Kicking off a six race stretch that spanned eight days with a two-day showdown at the Knoxville Raceway, Clovis, Calif. native Jason Meyers and the Elite Racing Team followed the World of Outlaws (WoO) to Pontoon Beach, Illinois before heading to the Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Missouri, the Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, SD, and finishing up the busy tour at the Eagle Nationals at the Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Nebraska. Jason Meyers Picks Up Victory at Virginia; Extends WoO Point Lead

While after this week, you might think that Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws (WoO) driver and California native Jason Meyers is from Hollywood, you are wrong – he calls Clovis home, near Fresno. After being interviewed on SPEED Channel’s ‘Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain’ last Sunday, then competing live on SPEED Channel Friday evening at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Meyers has spent quite a bit of time this week in front of the television cameras, all in preparation for his fifth WoO victory of the season, this time at the Virginia Motor Speedway. Jason recently took first place at the Ocean State Speedway Exhibition Races, and we were there to cheer him on and celebrate his victory.

He continued his impressive start to the 2008 season April 5th at I-55 Raceway in Missouri by winning his third Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event of the season and second straight. The victory moved him up to third in the weekly National Speed Sport News Power Rankings. Way to go, Jason!
